Dust Collector for Cement Plant

Dust Collector for Cement Plant is an industrial dust control system used to collect particulate matter from cement manufacturing and material handling processes. It can be installed at different points of a cement production line, including crushing, raw material grinding, clinker production, cement grinding, conveying, storage, and packing.

Cement process dust mainly consists of fine mineral particles generated during the handling and processing of limestone, clay, clinker, gypsum, cement, and other raw materials. The concentration, particle size, temperature, and moisture of the gas vary according to the production stage.

The dust collection system uses extraction ducts to capture contaminated air from production equipment and transfer points. The gas is directed into the dust collector, where the filtration section separates solid particles from the airflow.

In a baghouse configuration, dust-laden gas enters the dirty-air chamber and passes through filter bags. Cement and mineral particles accumulate on the filter surfaces, while filtered gas moves through the bags into the clean-air chamber.

When the dust layer reaches a specified level, the pulse-jet cleaning system releases compressed-air pulses to clean the filter bags. The detached dust falls into the hopper and is removed through a rotary airlock valve, screw conveyor, pneumatic conveying line, or another discharge device.

For high-temperature applications, the gas temperature can be monitored and controlled before entering the filter chamber. Filter media are selected according to temperature, humidity, dust concentration, particle abrasiveness, and chemical characteristics.

The dust collector can operate as a point-of-source unit or as part of a centralized cement plant dust collection network. The system may include extraction hoods, ductwork, fans, dampers, hoppers, dust discharge equipment, and automatic monitoring controls.

Working Process

  1. Dust is generated during cement production or material transfer.

  2. Dust-laden air is captured through extraction points.

  3. The contaminated gas enters the dust collector.

  4. Filter bags separate cement and mineral particles from the gas.

  5. Cleaned air flows into the clean-air chamber.

  6. Pulse cleaning removes accumulated dust from the bags.

  7. Collected dust falls into the hopper and is discharged or returned to the process.
