Dust Collector for Foundry

Dust Collector for Foundry is an industrial dust collection system designed to capture dust, fumes, smoke, and particulate matter generated during metal casting and foundry operations. It can be connected to individual production equipment or integrated into a centralized workshop ventilation system.

Foundry processes can generate dust and fumes during melting, pouring, molding, sand handling, shakeout, grinding, shot blasting, and casting finishing. The composition and concentration of airborne contaminants vary according to the metal, molding material, process temperature, and production method.

Dust-laden air is collected through hoods, enclosures, or process extraction points and conveyed through ductwork to the dust collector. Depending on the process conditions, the collector can use bag filters, cartridge filters, or other suitable filtration elements.

For baghouse configurations, contaminated air enters the filtration chamber and passes through the filter bags. Dust particles are retained on the filter surfaces while cleaned air flows into the clean-air chamber. A pulse-jet cleaning system periodically removes accumulated dust, allowing the separated material to fall into the hopper.

Foundry applications may involve high-temperature gas, sparks, abrasive particles, and combustible dust. The dust collection system should therefore be designed according to the specific process conditions. Spark control, pre-separation, temperature monitoring, suitable filter media, and other protective measures may be incorporated where required.

The collector can be configured with extraction hoods, spark arrestors, pre-separators, ductwork, fans, filter chambers, dust hoppers, and discharge equipment to suit different foundry layouts.

Working Process
