Dust Collector for Steel Plant is an industrial air pollution control system used to collect dust, fumes, smoke, and particulate matter generated during steel production and material handling. The system can be configured for different production processes, gas temperatures, dust concentrations, and airflow volumes.

Steel plants generate airborne contaminants during raw material handling, sintering, pelletizing, coke processing, ironmaking, steelmaking, casting, rolling, grinding, and other operations. The characteristics of the dust and fumes vary with the process and equipment involved.

Dust-laden gas is captured through extraction hoods, enclosed transfer points, process ducts, or local ventilation systems and conveyed to the dust collector. Depending on the application, filtration equipment may use bag filters, cartridge filters, cyclone pre-separators, or other dust separation components.

For baghouse configurations, contaminated gas enters the filtration chamber and passes through the filter bags. Dust particles are retained on the filter surfaces while cleaned gas flows into the clean-air chamber. A pulse-jet cleaning system removes accumulated dust at controlled intervals, allowing the collected material to fall into the hopper.

Steelmaking processes can involve high temperatures, sparks, abrasive dust, and fluctuating gas conditions. The dust collection system may therefore incorporate spark protection, pre-separation, temperature monitoring, cooling or conditioning equipment, and filter materials selected for the specific operating conditions.

The collector can be integrated with ductwork, extraction hoods, induced draft fans, dust hoppers, rotary airlock valves, screw conveyors, and automated monitoring and control systems.

Working Process

  1. Dust and fumes are generated during steel production.

  2. Contaminated gas is captured at the process source.

  5. Filter elements retain dust on their filtration surfaces.

  6. Pulse cleaning removes accumulated material.

  7. Collected dust falls into the hopper for discharge.
