VOC Adsorption System
VOC Adsorption System is a gas treatment system used to remove volatile organic compounds from industrial exhaust streams through adsorption. The process transfers VOC molecules from the gas phase onto the surface of a porous adsorbent material.
The system generally consists of an adsorption vessel or chamber, adsorption media, gas distribution components, valves, ductwork, and control equipment. Contaminated gas enters the adsorption section and passes through the adsorbent bed. VOC molecules are retained on the surface and within the pores of the adsorption material, while the treated gas continues through the outlet.
Common adsorption media include activated carbon, activated carbon fiber, zeolite, and other porous materials. Selection depends on VOC composition, concentration, gas temperature, humidity, airflow rate, and the required adsorption capacity.
As the adsorbent gradually becomes loaded with VOCs, the system may require replacement or regeneration. Depending on the process configuration, regeneration can be performed through heating, pressure reduction, vacuum, or another desorption method. The desorbed VOC stream can then be directed to a separate treatment or recovery process.
System design is determined by exhaust volume, VOC concentration, compound characteristics, operating temperature, humidity, adsorption capacity, and required treatment cycle.
