Cyclone Dust Collector

Cyclone Dust Collector is a gravity-assisted mechanical dust separation unit that uses a controlled vortex to separate solid particles from moving gas. It is commonly used where dust needs to be removed before the gas enters a finer filtration stage.

The incoming gas is directed into the cyclone chamber, creating a downward rotating flow. Particles suspended in the gas are subjected to centrifugal and inertial forces. Particles with sufficient mass or aerodynamic characteristics move toward the inner wall and travel downward into the lower collection section.

Near the lower cone, the gas flow changes direction and forms an upward inner vortex. The separated gas leaves through the upper outlet, while the collected dust remains in the hopper or discharge section.

The absence of fabric or cartridge media gives the cyclone a different operating mechanism from filter-based dust collectors. Its performance is influenced by the relationship between gas velocity, cyclone dimensions, particle properties, and pressure loss.

Cyclone Dust Collectors can be arranged as single units or multiple units connected in parallel when larger gas volumes need to be handled. They may also be combined with bag filters, cartridge collectors, scrubbers, or other downstream treatment equipment.
