Baghouse Filter Cage

Baghouse Filter Cage is a metal support framework installed inside a filter bag in a baghouse dust collection system. It provides an internal form for the flexible filter bag and helps maintain the required shape while air passes through the filtration chamber.

The cage is constructed from longitudinal wires and horizontal reinforcing rings. Its diameter and length are selected to correspond with the dimensions of the filter bag. The upper end may include a mounting collar, venturi, or other connection arrangement, while the lower end can use a welded or formed support structure.

During filtration, the filter bag is exposed to pressure differences caused by airflow through the fabric. The cage supports the inner surface of the bag and maintains the available filtration area. In pulse jet systems, the cage also provides the framework around which the bag expands during compressed-air cleaning.

Cage construction can be adjusted according to the number of support wires, ring spacing, wire diameter, bag length, and installation method. Carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and coated surfaces are used for different operating environments.
