Dust Filter Cage

Dust Filter Cage is a rigid metal framework used to support flexible filter elements in fabric dust collection equipment. It is positioned inside the filter bag and helps maintain the required filtration shape while the system operates under changing air pressure.

The cage typically consists of a series of longitudinal wires joined by horizontal reinforcing rings. The wire count, ring spacing, diameter, and overall length can be selected according to the dimensions of the corresponding filter bag. Different top and bottom designs allow the cage to fit various dust collector mounting arrangements.

In pulse cleaning applications, the filter cage works together with the compressed-air cleaning assembly. The support structure allows the filter bag to expand and contract during cleaning while limiting excessive deformation of the fabric. Proper alignment between the cage and filter bag is important for maintaining clearance and reducing unnecessary fabric movement.

The cage may be manufactured from carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, or coated metal depending on the surrounding conditions. Selection of the material and surface finish should take into account operating temperature, humidity, corrosive gases, and dust characteristics.
