Pneumatic Conveying System

Pneumatic Conveying System is a material transportation system that uses moving air or another conveying gas to carry powders and fine bulk solids through pipelines. It is used to transfer materials between different process points without relying on mechanical conveying elements along the transport route.

The system generally consists of a conveying pipeline, air supply or vacuum source, material feeding device, separation equipment, valves, and control components. Material is introduced into the gas stream through a suitable feeding arrangement and transported through the pipeline. At the receiving point, a cyclone, filter, or other separation device separates the conveyed material from the carrying gas.

Positive-pressure and vacuum conveying configurations can be selected according to the process requirements. Dilute-phase conveying is suitable for higher conveying velocities, while dense-phase conveying can be used when material degradation, pipeline wear, or gas consumption needs to be controlled.

System design depends on material properties, conveying distance, required capacity, particle size, bulk density, moisture content, pipeline layout, and pressure conditions. Air velocity and pressure must be matched with the characteristics of the material to maintain stable transport.
