Rotary Airlock Valve

Rotary Airlock Valve is a rotary feeding and discharge device used to control the movement of powders and bulk solids between equipment operating at different pressure conditions. It provides a controlled material passage while maintaining separation between the upper and lower sections of a process system.

The valve consists of a rotor with multiple pockets, a housing, end plates, shaft, bearings, and drive assembly. As the rotor turns, material enters the pockets through the upper inlet. The filled pockets move with the rotor and release the material through the lower outlet during rotation.

In pneumatic conveying systems, the Rotary Airlock Valve can be installed below hoppers, dust collectors, cyclones, filters, and other equipment to provide continuous material discharge while helping maintain the required pressure differential. The rotor clearance and sealing arrangement influence air leakage and material flow.

Different rotor configurations, housing materials, inlet and outlet dimensions, and drive arrangements can be selected according to material properties and operating conditions. Factors such as particle size, bulk density, temperature, abrasiveness, moisture, and required discharge rate should be considered during selection.
