Wet Electrostatic Precipitator

Wet Electrostatic Precipitator is a gas cleaning device that uses electrostatic forces to collect fine particles, liquid droplets, acid mist, and other suspended contaminants from industrial gas streams. The collected material is removed from the electrode surfaces by a wet washing process.

Contaminated gas enters the precipitator through the gas inlet and passes through the electrical collection zone. A high-voltage power supply creates an electrical field between the discharge electrodes and collecting electrodes. Fine particles and droplets passing through the field become electrically charged.

The charged contaminants are attracted toward the collecting electrodes and deposited on their surfaces. A water washing system then removes the deposits from the electrodes. The washing liquid carries the collected material downward into the drainage section, where it can be collected and further processed.

The main structure can use tubular or plate-type collecting electrodes. Discharge electrodes are positioned within the collection zone to generate the required electrical field. Gas distribution components help guide the exhaust evenly through the electrode area.

Wet Electrostatic Precipitators are suitable for gas streams containing fine particulate matter, sticky dust, acid mist, oil mist, and other contaminants that may be difficult to remove using dry filtration methods. Construction materials can be selected according to gas temperature, moisture, acidity, and corrosion conditions.

The equipment configuration is determined by gas flow rate, pollutant concentration, particle size, mist characteristics, gas temperature, electrical operating conditions, washing requirements, and available installation space.

Working Process

  1. Contaminated gas enters the precipitator.

  2. Gas is distributed through the electrical collection zone.

  3. Particles and liquid droplets become electrically charged.

  4. Charged contaminants migrate toward the collecting electrodes.

  5. Deposited material is removed by the washing system.

  6. Contaminated washing liquid flows into the drainage section.

  7. Treated gas exits through the outlet.
