Stainless Steel Demister Pad
Stainless Steel Demister Pad
Stainless Steel Demister Pad is a wire-mesh separation component used to remove entrained liquid droplets from gas streams. It is formed from layers of fine stainless steel wire mesh arranged to create a three-dimensional passage through which the gas flows.
When gas containing liquid droplets passes through the mesh, the droplets come into contact with the wire surfaces. Small droplets combine into larger droplets through repeated contact and coalescence. Once the droplets reach sufficient size, gravity causes them to move downward and separate from the gas stream.
Stainless steel construction provides resistance to moisture, corrosion, and elevated temperatures in applications where conventional materials may not be suitable. Different stainless steel grades can be selected according to the chemical composition and operating conditions of the gas or liquid.
The demister pad can be supplied in round, rectangular, or other shapes according to the internal dimensions of the separation vessel. Mesh density, wire diameter, pad thickness, and overall dimensions affect gas velocity, pressure drop, and liquid separation characteristics.
Support grids or holding structures can be installed above and below the pad to maintain its position during operation. The demister should be sized according to gas flow rate, droplet characteristics, operating pressure, temperature, and allowable pressure loss.
